oye Olusanya, CEO, 9mobile formerly Etisalat Nigeria, says the number five mobile network operator in Nigeria has recorded ground-breaking feats in the last ten years of its operations in the country.
The 9mobile CEO said this in a company statement made available to Technology Times commemorating the tenth anniversary of the mobile business.
“In just 10 years of operations as Nigeria’s innovative Mobile Network Operator (MNO), we have revolutionised the nation’s telecommunications industry with an array of ground-breaking products, services and solutions to empower our youth, entrepreneurs, SMEs and indeed all segments of the Nigerian society”, Olusanya says.
Olusanya adds that in the last ten years, 9mobile has recorded many firsts in the industry including “our most daring masterbrand campaign ‘0809UChoose’ which put power in the hands of subscribers to choose their numbers. 9mobile is currently undergoing a process where two government regulator plan to sell the company following debts owed a group of banks.
The 9mobile CEO was silent on the ongoing sale of the mobile business in which Teleology Holdings Limited has emerged the winner.
However, he says “the Management reflects on the company’s journey which commenced in October 2008, and we express heartfelt gratitude to our teeming customers, partners, regulators and government for your support and for standing by us over this past decade.”
